Description:
The City of Charlottesville is soliciting sealed bids from qualified vendors to establish a term contract to provide Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) bus tires and related repair services on an as-needed basis. The contract shall be for one year beginning July 10, 2025, with the option to renew under the terms of the original agreement for up to three additional one-year terms if agreed upon in writing by both parties. The contractor shall provide and deliver goods and services in the following categories: tires, tire installation and repairs, wheel refurbishment, and tire disposal. • Tires: The contractor shall provide tires that meet the specifications outlined in the solicitation document, including being nationally rated as a quality-level tire, meeting or exceeding the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications, and being listed in the manufacturer's regularly published catalog. • Tire installation and repairs: The contractor shall provide tire mounting and dismounting, tire and wheel balancing, and flat repairs. • Wheel refurbishment: The contractor shall provide sandblasting and powder coating services for steel wheels and cleaning for aluminum wheels. • Tire disposal: The contractor shall pick up used, City-owned tires from CAT and dispose of the tires as requested by the City and pre-scheduled with the City's Contract Administrator or Designee.
