The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is seeking bids for the procurement of breeding bulls. The bulls must be virgin, purebred, and registered with the American Angus Association, American Red Angus Association, Brahman Breeders Association, or the American Hereford Association. The TDCJ will attend auctions from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025, to purchase the bulls. The purchase order will be issued when the bulls are bought, and a state warrant will be issued for payment within approximately thirty days. • The bulls must be of the following breeds: Angus, Red Angus, Brahman, or Hereford. • The bulls must be born between October 1, 2021, and September 1, 2022. • The bulls must have a registration number and meet the breeding requirements specified by the TDCJ. • The vendor must provide a catalog with the bull's Expected Progeny Difference (EPD) information for birth weight, weaning weight, yearling weight, total material, and maternal milk. • The vendor must provide a letter with the auction location, date, time, contact name and title, vendor name, telephone number, fax number, email, billing address, and tax identification number.
