The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Cabinet for Health and Family Services, is seeking a qualified vendor to provide outside reference lab specimen processing/testing for mental healthcare facilities. The vendor will be responsible for performing tests, providing test results, and ensuring the integrity of samples during transport. The contract will be for a period of time to be determined, and the vendor will be expected to provide services as needed when supplies or resources are not available to perform such tests onsite. Key aspects of the job include: • Providing referral and confirmation testing for various disorders and conditions • Possessing a bi-directional Health Level 7 (HL7) electronic reporting system • Complying with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and Joint Commission standards • Providing a detailed, written, and accurate real-time report to laboratory systems • Participating in oral presentations/demonstrations if required • Ensuring the integrity of samples during transport and maintaining a chain of custody documentation • Complying with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP) standards for specimen handling
