Description:
The Office of Naval Research (ONR) is seeking proposals for applied research in communications and networking technologies to support the Navy's Information Warfare vision. The goal is to develop measurable advances in technology that can enable and enhance end-to-end connectivity and quality-of-service for mission-critical information exchange among naval, joint, and coalition forces. The focus areas include laboratory proof-of-concept for an atomic sensor receiver design, energy-efficient wireless communication antennas/protocols/algorithms, innovative approaches for low probability-of-detection communications, advanced techniques for distributed network control, and novel algorithms for predicting network behavior. • The proposal should include a technical concept, future naval relevance, operational naval concept, operational utility assessment plan, and a rough order of magnitude cost estimate. • White papers are strongly encouraged and should be submitted by July 11, 2025. • Full proposals will be requested from offerors whose proposed technologies have been identified as being of particular value to the Government. • The period of performance for projects may be from 1, 2, or 3 years. • ONR plans to fund 5 to 6 individual awards with a value of $250,000 to $500,000 per year.
