Description:
The New York State Clean Energy Internship Program is a workforce development initiative that aims to enhance the talent pipeline for New York State businesses engaged in the clean energy industry. The program provides paid internships to students and recent graduates considering career opportunities in clean energy. NYSERDA reimburses eligible businesses for a percentage of the intern's wages. The program is designed to provide interns and businesses with the tools to connect, and it focuses on facilitating the placement of interns into paid internships across the state. • The program is open to all New York State counties. • Eligible businesses must have at least two or more full-time employees or the equivalent of two full-time employees. • Interns must be New York State residents, and they must be at least 16 years old. • The program provides reimbursement for up to 90% of the intern's wages for businesses with 100 or fewer employees, and up to 75% for businesses with more than 100 employees. • The maximum term of an internship is 12 months, and the maximum number of hours is 480 hours. • Businesses can have up to seven interns participating in the program at one time, depending on the number of full-time employees.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$7,200 – $8,640

The budget for this opportunity can be estimated based on the reimbursement rate for intern wages. The program provides reimbursement for up to 90% of the intern's wages for businesses with 100 or fewer employees, and up to 75% for businesses with more than 100 employees. Assuming an average intern wage of $20 per hour, the reimbursement amount would be $18 per hour for businesses with 100 or fewer employees, and $15 per hour for businesses with more than 100 employees. For a 12-month internship with a maximum of 480 hours, the total reimbursement amount would be $8,640 for businesses with 100 or fewer employees, and $7,200 for businesses with more than 100 employees.
