Description:
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) invites bids for mountain lion houndsman services for research in the central California coast. The purpose of this agreement is to continue the facilitation of mountain lion research, monitoring, and management across the state using specially trained houndspersons. The awarded bidder will aid in the capture and satellite-collaring of mountain lions to facilitate CDFW research efforts. The work is required on an as-needed basis statewide, with targeted efforts in specific areas of California. • The contract term will be from upon contract approval through June 30, 2026. • The awarded contract will be written for a maximum amount of $20,000.00. • The bidder must possess a minimum five (5) years of experience handling hounds for the purpose of locating, trailing, pursuing, and treeing mountain lions in a non-injurious manner. • The bidder must have a minimum of ten (10) mountain lions treed with wet ground conditions and ten (10) mountain lions treed with dry ground conditions. • The bidder must provide a list of three (3) references with direct knowledge of the listed experience as a houndsperson.
