Description:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a service provider to remove non-hazardous and recyclable waste generated during the processing of prescription medications for Veterans at the Great Lakes Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (GL-CMOP) in Hines, IL. The contract will be a firm-fixed price contract with a duration of one base year and four one-year option periods. The contractor will be responsible for weekly pick-up of solid waste and twice weekly pick-up of recyclable materials. The contractor must use equipment that meets OSHA standards and collect containers from specified locations. Key responsibilities include: • Weekly pick-up of solid waste from a 30 cubic yard compactor dumpster • Twice weekly pick-up of recyclable materials on pallets • Providing a 30 cubic yard open roll-off dumpster for mixed construction materials every two months • Providing a 30 cubic yard open roll-off dumpster for large recyclable metal every two months • Marketing collected materials to recycling centers and remitting proceeds to the GL-CMOP • Maintaining a quality control program to ensure contract specifications are consistently met
