The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is seeking vendors to identify critical mineral deposits along the Texas Coast by analyzing 318 samples from 159 cores. The vendor must have the ability to travel to Austin, TX and Boca Raton, FL to collect samples from the cores in storage. The scope of work includes elemental/mineralogical analyses, grain size analysis, and exploration-style analysis to determine the elements in each sample. The goal of the project is to support BOEM's National Offshore Critical Mineral Inventory (NOCMI) and characterize critical mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). • The vendor must have experience in elemental/mineralogical analyses and grain size analysis. • The vendor must be able to collect samples from the cores in storage in Austin, TX and Boca Raton, FL. • The vendor must be able to conduct exploration-style analysis to determine the elements in each sample. • The vendor must be able to separate out the heavy minerals, calculate their distribution and mass, and determine their provenance, composition, and recoverability.
