The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Aviation Division is seeking qualified firms to provide professional engineering services for various airport facilities improvement projects throughout the state of Texas. The selected firms will be required to perform independent fee estimates, engineering design reviews, and constructability reviews for airport facilities improvement projects, including but not limited to improvements to runways, taxiways, aprons, shoulders, drainage, electrical lighting, signage, fencing, landscaping, terminal buildings, aircraft hangars, and associated appurtenances. The firms must demonstrate their ability to provide on-demand services in a timely manner and have recent experience with similar projects. The contract term will not exceed 5 years, and all work authorizations will be issued within the first 3 years of the contract. Key aspects of the job include: • Independent fee estimate preparation • Engineering design reviews, including review of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) packages • Constructability reviews, including design review of construction timelines, phasing, environmental issues, and geographical location limitations • Ability to provide on-demand services in a timely manner • Familiarity with federal advisory circulars, TxDOT standards and specifications, and material and testing procedures • Ability to work solely in the interest of the Agent (TxDOT) without conflicting financial or personal incentives
