The City of Hampton is seeking bids from qualified bidders to provide on-call as-needed bridge rehabilitation services on an as-need basis. The services will include tasks such as seal cracks, deck patching, rail repair, approach slab repair, joint rehabilitation, thin overlay, rigid overlay, asphalt overlay, spot paint, paint, steel superstructure repairs, bearing repair, concrete surface repair, and concrete sealants. The contractor will be required to provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, traffic control, and incidentals necessary to perform the work. The contract will be for a period of one year with the option to renew for up to three additional years. • The contractor must have a minimum of three years of experience in performing similar services. • The contractor must provide unit prices for each task. • The contractor must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. • The contractor must provide weekly activity reports and documentation of work completed. • The contractor must maintain traffic control measures in accordance with the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual. Some of the key tasks and services that the contractor will be required to perform include: • Seal cracks in bridge decks and approach slabs • Repair and replace bridge rails and parapets • Perform concrete repairs and overlays • Provide traffic control and maintenance of traffic services • Remove debris and sediment from bridge structures and channels • Perform steel superstructure repairs and replacements • Apply coatings and sealants to bridge surfaces • Provide erosion control and environmental protection measures
