Description:
The Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Wildlife, is seeking a consultant to provide engineering analyses and design services for the Spring Creek Dam Rehabilitation Project. The project involves a comprehensive alternatives analysis to mitigate or reduce the dam safety risk. The consultant will develop up to three design alternatives and provide schematic level drawings, preliminary calculations, and cost estimates for each alternative. The selected consultant may also be asked to perform design and construction administration services for Phases 2 and 3 of the project. Key considerations include spillway rehabilitation, seepage mitigation, and risk-informed design approach. • The project is located in Gunnison County, Colorado, and the dam is a high hazard dam with a history of seepage issues. • The consultant should have experience with similar projects, including spillway rehabilitation and replacement, seepage mitigation, and risk-informed design approach. • The project schedule includes a draft Alternatives Report due by February 2026 and a final Alternatives Report due by June 2026. • The consultant should be able to demonstrate their understanding of the project purpose, needs, risks, and requirements, and propose a project approach that includes client interaction, cost control, quality control, and quality assurance.
