Description:
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is conducting market research in preparation for replacing the 29’ Response Boat - Small 2nd generation (RB-S II). The USCG is pursuing a boat that can conduct Search & Rescue (SAR), Law Enforcement (LE), Ports, Waterways, Coastal, and Security (PWCS), Drug Interdiction (DI), and Migrant Interdiction (MI) operations in a variety of environments. The RFI seeks information regarding the availability of boats that meet the preliminary requirements, innovative features and design standards, and the ability to build and deliver an operational test and evaluation boat within a certain timeframe. Key points to consider: • The USCG is looking for a boat that can conduct multiple operations in various environments. • The RFI seeks information on the availability of boats that meet the preliminary requirements. • The USCG is interested in innovative features and design standards, such as stability and buoyancy standards, and structural standards. • The ability to build and deliver an operational test and evaluation boat within a 3-month or 6-month timeframe is of interest. • The USCG is considering a 7-year period to build and deliver the full fleet of approximately 348 boats.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$100,000,000 – $500,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate as it is a Request for Information (RFI) and not a formal solicitation. However, considering the USCG is planning to replace a fleet of 348 boats, the total contract value could be substantial. Assuming an average cost of $1 million per boat, the total contract value could be around $348 million. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on various factors such as the complexity of the project, the materials and technologies used, and the vendor's pricing strategy.
