The City of Salisbury is seeking bids for the construction of a 16-inch water main extension from Scenic Drive to Ed Taylor Road along Naylor Mill Road, including installation of the water main by horizontal directional drilling. The work also includes removal of existing roadway pavement for the installation of new 16-inch and 8-inch water mains, full depth pavement reconstruction, mill and overlay of existing pavement. The project consists of approximately 10,000 feet of 16-inch PVC & HDPE pipe and 3,500 feet of 8-inch PVC pipe, with two horizontal directional drilling installations. Key features of the project include: • Installation of water main by horizontal directional drilling • Removal of existing roadway pavement • Full depth pavement reconstruction • Mill and overlay of existing pavement • Traffic control plan using the "Single Lane Closure" method of construction The successful vendor will be required to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, and to provide adequate protection against damages to all work and to repair damages of any kind, to the building or equipment, due to vendor's own work or to the work of other vendors for which the awarded vendor is responsible.
