Description:
Oakland Unified School District is seeking qualified vendors to provide in‑person youth development enrichment services for K‑12 students during after‑school, summer, and intersession periods. The district will pay providers on a per‑student‑day basis ($15 for grades 1‑12, $30 for TK/K) and will award one‑year contracts that may be renewed annually for up to five years, depending on performance and funding. Vendors must meet staffing ratios (20:1 for grades 1‑12, 10:1 for TK/K), provide required staff clearances, and submit detailed budgets, lesson plans, and compliance documentation. • Deliver arts, sports, special‑education, or academic enrichment sessions (1 hour minimum) as subcontractors to existing lead agencies. • Service windows: after‑school (≈1:45 p.m.–6:00 p.m.) and seasonal (summer/inter‑session) on school sites. • Compensation is attendance‑based; vendors invoice monthly for actual student‑day attendance. • Minimum eligibility: ≥2 years of relevant program delivery in Oakland, Richmond, or Berkeley; fiscal reserves for at least one month of expenses; staff qualifications and background clearances.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$500,000 – $3,000,000

Based on the per‑student‑day rates ($15 for grades 1‑12, $30 for TK/K) and assuming a modest pilot serving 400 students per day for 150 days (≈60,000 student‑days) at the $15 rate, the contract could generate roughly $900,000 annually. A larger rollout serving 1,000 students per day for 180 days at the $30 rate would approach $5.4 million. Therefore a realistic earnings range for a typical vendor is between $0.5 million and $3 million per year, depending on enrollment volume and grade mix.
