The Office of the Public Defender (OPD) is seeking a strategic communications partner to provide services including account management, event planning, media relations, material development, crisis communication, and social and digital media development. The goal of the project is to elevate OPD's visibility, shape public understanding, and strengthen trust in the mission, impact, and value of public defense throughout the state. The contractor will be responsible for developing a detailed communications plan, attending regular status meetings, and providing monthly progress reports. The contractor will also be required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, standards, and guidelines affecting information technology projects. • Key services include: • Account management • Event planning and execution • Media relations • Material development • Crisis communication • Development and utilization of social and digital media • The contractor will be responsible for developing a crisis communications plan and providing real-time support for responding to media inquiries and reputation risks. • The contractor will also be required to provide guidance and content development for OPD's social media platforms and create branded templates and graphics to promote events, campaigns, and announcements. • The contractor will be responsible for establishing metrics to assess the success and effectiveness of PR efforts and providing quarterly and end-of-contract evaluation reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
