Description:
The project involves hydraulic maintenance or mechanical dredging of the Milford Haven Channel, transport of material by pipeline with placement within the beach placement sites, minor site-work of the placement sites, and repair of the adjacent jetty structure. The work will be located at the Milford Haven Federal Navigation Channel in Gwynn, Virginia. The project requires the contractor to perform dredging, site work, construction of sheet pile, and placement of stone. The contractor will be paid based on a lump sum price for mobilization and demobilization, and unit prices for dredging, armor stone, bedding stone, and demolition of mooring and sheet piles. The project has a period of performance of 300 days from the notice to proceed. Key considerations for the contractor include coordination with vessel traffic, adherence to local ordinances, and protection of existing utilities and the environment. • Dredging will include a portion of the authorized channel to a depth of -10 feet mean lower low water (MLLW) and will include 1 foot of allowable overdepth. • The contractor will be required to submit a construction manpower and equipment report daily. • The contractor will be responsible for coordination of the work of the trades, subcontractors, and materials. • The government reserves the right to refuse to permit employment on the work or require dismissal from the work of any subcontractor who is considered incompetent or objectionable. • The contractor will be required to maintain quality control for all work performed at the job site. • The contractor will be required to conduct surveys to verify lines, grades, and thicknesses of materials placed.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$5,000,000 – $20,000,000

Based on the project description, the budget for this project could be substantial, potentially in the range of $5 million to $20 million, considering the scope of work involved, including dredging, site work, construction of sheet pile, and placement of stone. The actual budget will depend on the contractor's bid and the final agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the project, the materials and equipment required, and the labor costs.
