The project involves the modernization of one passenger/freight elevator system at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in Maryland. The work includes removing, furnishing, delivering, and completing the modernization of the elevator system, including all related materials. The project requires the contractor to provide labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the proper execution and completion of the work. The contractor must also ensure that the work does not disturb the students or staff during the occupied school year. The project includes architectural, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, and security work. • The contractor must engage an MCPS-approved security contractor to make any required modifications to the security system. • The contractor must provide a complete fire detection and alarm system, including manual stations, detectors, notification appliances, controls, and devices. • The contractor must comply with NFPA 72, applicable local codes, and regulations and requirements of the authorities having jurisdiction. • The contractor must provide operating instructions and at least 8 hours of additional instruction time for the systems and equipment specified.
