Description:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to issue a sole source award to Instron for the procurement of various components, including load frame grips and capacity upgrade components, for the ERDC's Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL). The components are required for the ERDC's currently owned Instron A357385 load frame. The sole source award is due to Instron being the sole manufacturer and distributor of these components, and there being no approved third-party resellers. * The required components include 250kN wedge grips, multiple compatible grips and accessories, compression after impact test fixture, spherically seated compression platens, biaxial extensometer, strain gauge adapters, strain card, expansion channel module, flexural bend fixture, and board expansion. * The award will be a Firm-Fixed price contract. * The notice is for information purposes only and is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. However, responsible sources may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations, which will be considered by the agency.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate as the document does not provide a specific amount. However, considering the components being procured are specialized and for a specific load frame, the cost is likely to be substantial. A rough estimate could be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000, considering the complexity and specificity of the components. Factors influencing the likely payment range include the cost of the individual components, the complexity of the installation or integration, and any additional services required, such as training or maintenance.
