Description:
The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a qualified contractor to replace two overhead rolling steel doors and their heavy‑duty operators at the Solid Waste Transfer Station. The work includes demolition, removal, disposal, installation of new doors and gear‑reduced hoist operators, verification of all mechanical and electrical components, and a full safety plan. Bidders must submit a sealed hand‑delivered bid, include weekend labor rates, provide warranty documentation, and meet stringent insurance, licensing, and wage compliance requirements. • Remove and dispose of two existing 2 HP, 208 V, 3‑phase overhead doors and operators. • Install two new steel doors (≈16‑18 ft × 26‑28 ft) with new vertical tracks, C‑channels, and 2 HP gear‑reduced hoist operators, including all electrical wiring, switches, keypads, and safety devices. • Perform work over a minimum of two calendar days, primarily on a weekend, and provide fire‑watch, site security, and post‑installation cleanup. • Supply three recent project references, complete all four mandatory compliance forms, and furnish proof of insurance and licensure. • Provide a written warranty covering parts and labor for both doors and operators.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$77,515 – $122,210

The bid tab shows two recorded totals of $77,515 and $122,210, indicating that the contract value lies in the low‑to‑mid‑six‑figure range. Assuming the winning bid will be near the lower of the two figures after competitive pricing, the expected revenue for the contractor is roughly $75k–$125k. Factors influencing the final amount include weekend labor premiums, disposal fees, warranty extensions, and any change orders for additional safety measures.
