The U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration, intends to award a sole source purchase order for the procurement of a Maritime Evacuation System (MES) from Life Systems Australia (LSA) for the NSMV class vessels. The MES is a high-capacity inflatable slide system that enables fast, simultaneous boarding of life rafts, minimizing evacuation time and reducing the risk of mechanical failure or human error. The purpose of this acquisition is to establish a rotational spare MES set to support the operational readiness of the NSMV fleet during scheduled annual servicing.
