Description:
The City of Albany is seeking a consultant to provide services to the Community Police Review Board (CPRB) on an as-needed and non-exclusive basis. The selected consultant will assist the CPRB in developing and implementing its responsibilities, including receiving and reviewing community complaints of police misconduct, reviewing investigations, and developing a police disciplinary matrix. The consultant will also provide training and technical assistance to the CPRB and its staff. * Key responsibilities include: * Assisting the CPRB in navigating its critical moment in history * Developing and providing onboarding and ongoing training to the CPRB body and personnel * Advising the CPRB on national best practices of civilian oversight of law enforcement * Collecting and organizing stakeholder feedback on CPRB priorities * Assisting the CPRB in making formal recommendations to the Mayor and Common Council regarding police policies and practices * Coordinating with City departments as needed * Providing advice and assistance at CPRB meetings
