The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Public Advocacy, is seeking a qualified individual or organization to provide immigration attorney consultant services. The selected consultant will provide consultation services on DPA client cases that involve immigration collateral consequences of a criminal matter, review provided facts and circumstances, advise criminal defense attorney public defenders, and assist in educating defenders on immigration consequences. The consultant will also attend case reviews or meetings involving non-citizen clients facing immigration consequences. The contract is expected to be for a period of approximately 3 months, with a total of 200 hours of work at a rate of $125 per hour. Key aspects of the job include: • Providing consultation services on immigration-related cases • Reviewing facts and circumstances to determine immigration consequences • Advising public defenders on potential collateral consequences • Assisting in educating defenders on immigration consequences • Attending case reviews or meetings involving non-citizen clients The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law, be licensed with the Kentucky Bar Association, and have experience advising attorneys on immigration legal issues.
