Description:
Central Alabama Water is seeking bids for the supply of ductile iron pipe, zinc-coated pipe, and V-Bio enhanced polyethylene encasement for a 12-month period. The pipe must meet ANSI/AWWA standards, and the polyethylene encasement must meet ANSI/AWWA C105/A21.5 standards. The contractor must provide a sworn statement that the inspections and specified tests have been made, and the results comply with the requirements of the standards. The contractor must also provide an Affidavit of Compliance that the material provided complies with the applicable requirements of the standards. • The pipe must be manufactured in accordance with ANSI/AWWA Standard C151/A21.51-09. • The pipe must be zinc-coated outside in accordance with ANSI/AWWA Standard C151/A21.51-09. • The pipe must be cement-lined inside in accordance with ANSI/AWWA Standard C104/A21.4-08. • The polyethylene encasement must be linear low-density film, 8-mil minimum thickness, white in color, new and manufactured of virgin polyethylene material. • The polyethylene encasement must be infused with a blend of anti-microbial biocide to mitigate microbiologically influenced corrosion and a volatile corrosion inhibitor to control galvanic corrosion.
