Description:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to perform a comprehensive inspection, testing, and corrective action plan for the dry pipe fire suppression system at the Doris Miller VA Medical Center in Waco, Texas. The contractor will be responsible for identifying and resolving underlying issues causing the nitrogen generator to operate continuously, triggering pressure and flow switches, and resulting in unwarranted fire department responses. The contractor will also ensure that the VA's dry pipe system is restored to optimal functionality and operates in accordance with its intended design specifications. Some key tasks include: • Identifying low spots in piping • Conducting hydrostatic and air pressure tests • Identifying and locating leaks within the system • Providing a detailed report with cost estimates for repair • Draining and re-pressurizing the system • Inspecting and testing pressure regulators and valves • Performing functional testing of all system components • Submitting a comprehensive commissioning report The contractor will be required to coordinate with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and ensure that all necessary parts, materials, and tools are accounted for prior to the start of work. The contractor will also be responsible for ensuring that all safety measures are followed in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
