Description:
The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is seeking a General Contractor to provide preconstruction services and construction services for the replacement of 10 rooftop air handling units (RTUs) at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The selected contractor will be responsible for delivering full preconstruction services, including preliminary budgeting, scheduling, constructability analysis, and value engineering, as well as construction services, including demolition, temporary weatherproofing, reinforcement of existing bar joists, and construction of new rooftop curbs and roof penetrations. The contractor will work in close collaboration with the GWCCA Projects & Program Management and Facility Management Teams, the GWCCA’s Owner’s Representative, and the selected Design Team. • Preconstruction services will include site investigation, constructability and phasing strategy, cost estimating and value engineering, scheduling, and coordination services. • Construction services will include demolition, temporary weatherproofing, reinforcement of existing bar joists, construction of new rooftop curbs and roof penetrations, crane and/or helicopter coordination and rigging operations, piping and ductwork modifications, electrical, life safety, and controls integration, insulation, sealing, and weatherproofing, startup, testing, balancing, and commissioning. • The contractor must have a minimum of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate for premises and operations coverage, and $1,000,000 for personal and advertising injury coverage, as well as current commercial umbrella liability coverage in the amount of at least $5,000,000 per occurrence and general aggregate. • The contractor must demonstrate sufficient cash flow to undertake the project as evidenced by a current ratio (assets/liabilities) of 1.0 or higher. • The contractor must demonstrate a commitment to safety with regard to Worker’s Compensation by having a current Experience Modification Rating (EMR) of 1.2 or less.
