Boone County Public Works is soliciting bids for the purchase of up to two new 20-ton power tilt trailers. The trailers must meet the specifications outlined in the bid package, which includes details on the trailer's capacity, dimensions, frame, deck, tie downs, hitch, and other features. The bid package also includes requirements for insurance, certifications, and other documentation. The successful bidder will be required to provide verification of insurance coverage and maintain the insurance coverage for the duration of the contract. • The trailer must have a capacity of 40,000# (20 tons) and a gross vehicle weight rating of 48,380#. • The trailer must have a deck width of 102" (8'6") and a flat deck length of 21'. • The trailer must have a beavertail length of 6' set at an 8 deg. load angle. • The trailer must have a tongue (drawbar) of 6'4". • The trailer must have a centerline of suspension to break of beavertail of 48". • The trailer must have an overall length of 31'4". • The trailer must have a main beam size of W14" x 22", ASTM 572, Gr. 50, wide flange I-beam. • The trailer must have crossmembers of 6" X 3.7", pierced through the main beams, 24" on center. • The trailer must have side rails of 8" channel. • The trailer must have a headboard of 8" channel, full width of trailer. • The trailer must have a deck material of Apitong Outside w/ DSS Lumber Center. • The trailer must have tie downs of Roto 'D' Ring design with ability to rotate 360 deg. • The trailer must have a hitch mounting plate of 1-piece wraparound design. • The trailer must have a hitch of one-piece solid cast steel lunette eye and flange mount, 2 mounting bolts. • The trailer must have a parking jack of 70,000# static, 40,000# lift, 2-speed, heavy duty screw type with (2) mounting positions, 25" and 44" from front of lunette eye hitch. • The trailer must have a storage area of covered, lockable storage area in the drawbar, with drain holes. • The trailer must have safety chains of (2) ½" Blue-Krome plated high test, safety hook w/ latch. • The trailer must have a wiring harness of USA Star P.L.U.S. Sealed Modular wiring Harness with 7-way ATA plug. • The trailer must have lights of sealed L.E.D., 12 volt, D.O.T. approved. • The trailer must have a paint color of manufacturers' standard yellow, black or blue. • The trailer must have a suspension of Hutch (Hutchens Industries) model H9700, multi-point, 50,000# capacity, tandem. • The trailer must have axles of (2) 5" diameter, 20,000# each, H.M. series bearings (maximum axle track width). • The trailer must have brakes of 12 ¼" x 7 ½" S-Cam Air Brakes, with Automatic Slack Adjusters. • The trailer must have hubs/wheels/tires of (4) disc type, 8 bolt, (8) 6.75 x 17.5 Hub-Piloted, (8) 215/75R17.5 (H) steel-belted radials. • The trailer must have rear loading ramps of 6' long, lightweight design, to fold over and store on beavertail.
