The Department of General Services is seeking a Design-Builder to relocate the Historic Building 88 (Blackburn Laboratory) on the St. Elizabeths East Campus in Washington, DC. The project involves relocating the building 65 feet west to facilitate the construction of Sycamore Drive SE. The Design-Builder will be responsible for completing plans, specifications, and obtaining permits for the relocation, as well as demolishing the old basement and connections to other buildings. The project requires review and approval by the Commission of Fine Arts and the Historic Preservation Review Board. The Design-Builder will provide all design and construction services necessary to complete the project, including site work, relocation of the building, and construction of new foundations and below-grade foundation walls.
