Description:
The US Air Force is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the repair of various National Stock Numbers (NSNs). The 415th Supply Chain Management Squadron is considering a strategic contract for the repair of multiple NSNs, with the goal of establishing a multiple-award contract to facilitate quick repairs. The contract is expected to be for 5 years, with an option for an additional 5 years. The Government is seeking information from industry on their capabilities, experience, and interest in repairing the listed NSNs. • The contract will require the repair of various NSNs, including electronic components, motors, and other equipment. • The Government is seeking companies with experience in repair services, particularly those with expertise in Form, Fit, Function, and Interface (FFFI) replacement. • The contract will require companies to create test plans and procedures, and to submit First Articles for testing and approval. • The Government is interested in learning about industry's experience with multiple-award contracts and their thoughts on the benefits and challenges of this approach. • The Government is also seeking information on how to assist vendors in overcoming obsolescence challenges in NSNs with obsolete components.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$10,000,000 – $50,000,000

The budget for this contract is not explicitly stated, but based on the scope of the project, it is likely to be a multi-million dollar contract. The Government is seeking a long-term contract, with the potential for a 10-year period, which suggests a significant investment. The contract will require the repair of various NSNs, including electronic components, motors, and other equipment, which could involve complex and costly processes. Given the complexity and scope of the project, a rough estimate for the budget could be in the range of $10 million to $50 million per year, depending on the number of NSNs being repaired and the frequency of repairs. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on various factors, including the number of contractors involved, the level of competition, and the Government's budget for the project. The budget could be influenced by factors such as the level of competition, the complexity of the repairs, and the Government's budget for the project. The Government's goal of establishing a multiple-award contract could also impact the budget, as it may lead to a more competitive bidding process and potentially lower prices.
