Description:
The Air Force Research Laboratory is soliciting proposals for the development of autonomous capabilities to maintain custody of maritime targets of interest from primarily spaceborne sensing assets. The objective of the MAINSAIL program is to develop algorithms that find maritime targets, represent this information in machine-readable data format, and reason over this data to identify prior target locations and likely future target locations. The program will concentrate on developing autonomous capabilities using direct automated target recognition methods and contextual data to enrich the data and allow for greater discriminative and predictive power. Key aspects of the program include: • Development of autonomous capabilities for maritime target identification and localization • Use of direct automated target recognition methods and contextual data • Representation of target information in machine-readable data format • Reasoning over target data to identify prior and future target locations • Development of algorithms for maritime target identification and localization • Potential use of Government Furnished Property (GFP) and base support/network access
