The services include loading, hauling, and recycling of ferrous scrap metal received at the city's residential self-haul Recycling Solid-Waste Collection Center. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the services. The city is looking for a contractor who can provide a reliable and efficient service, minimize fluid leaks, and ensure a "broom clean" area at the end of each day. • The contractor must have experience in scrap metal recycling and provide a brief history of the company, qualifications, and resumes of key personnel. • The contractor must have a plan for continuous evaluation of markets for recyclable materials and propose a minimum percentage of recyclable materials to be captured and sold in the open market. • The contractor must provide a revenue proposal, including an index to be used to calculate payment to the city, and apply the proposed index to calculate the amount to be paid to the city for a given month. • The city reserves the right to waive any immaterial defect or informality, reject any or all proposals, or reissue the request for proposal.
