The USDA Forest Service, Schenck Job Corps Center, requires immediate procurement of services to replace the fuel system for Engine 8104, the center’s sole Type 6 Fire Engine. The vehicle plays a critical role in supporting the Advanced Fire Trade Program and is actively mobilized for national wildfire assignments. The estimated cost of the repair is $15,000, and the work needs to be completed as soon as possible. The engine is currently at Fields of Asheville, 255 Smokey Park Hwy, Asheville, NC, and it is preferred that the repair work is done at this location to avoid additional towing costs. • The contractor will be responsible for replacing the diesel fuel system of the engine. • The contractor must comply with all applicable Federal anti-discrimination laws and the Equal Protection principles of the U.S. Constitution. • The contractor must provide employees with 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours they work, up to 56 hours of paid sick leave each year. • The contractor must pay all covered workers at least $13.30 per hour (or the applicable wage rate listed on the wage determination, if it is higher) for all hours spent performing on the contract in 2025. • The contractor must provide a written copy of the wage determination to each affected employee or post it as a part of the wage determination.
