The City of Canton is seeking a qualified firm to provide professional services for the development of a facility condition and needs assessment study for the AEP Ohio building. The study will include an assessment of the current facility conditions, identification of deficiencies, and recommendations for corrections and modernization. The firm will also conduct a space utilization study to facilitate the maximum beneficial usage of the existing space and organization of the departments. The scope of services includes project coordination, site investigation, data collection, programmatic and diagrammatic drawings, and cost estimating. • The firm will inspect the AEP Ohio building to produce an accurate analysis of the facility's condition and identify components and elements requiring maintenance, repair, and/or major capital investment. • The firm will provide cost estimates for corrections and recommendations for modernization, including spatial utilization, public access, gathering spaces, and exterior architectural aesthetics. • The firm will assess the level of perceived maintenance effort versus industry standards and provide preventative maintenance recommendations. • The firm will conduct a space utilization study to facilitate the maximum beneficial usage of the existing space and organization of the departments. • The firm will provide a final document that meets the purpose, goals, and scope of services, including a vision for the former AEP Ohio facility, a guiding document and action plan, a road-map for implementing the vision, a series of illustrative renderings, and a definitive reference tool.
