The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide mock surveys and on-site consultation for six regional psychiatric hospitals. The purpose of this project is to assess the hospitals' compliance with current Joint Commission Hospital and CMS standards. The contractor will review policies, organization plans, medical record forms, human resource file formats, medical staff by-laws, and credentialing/privileging procedures. The contractor will also provide technical assistance to the hospitals regarding strategies and resources for standard compliance. Some key areas of focus include accreditation, environment of care, emergency management, human resources, infection prevention and control, information management, leadership, life safety, medication management, medical staff, national patient safety goals, nursing leadership, provision of care, treatment, and services, performance improvement, record of care, rights and responsibilities, transplant safety, and waived testing. • The six hospital locations for the Mock Survey and Consultation are: • Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare (ABH) • Summit Behavioral Healthcare (SBH) • Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare (COBH) • Heartland Behavioral Healthcare • Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare • Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare (NOBH) The contractor must have at least 5 years of experience and knowledge in reviewing CMS/Joint Commission Hospital and Behavioral Health Standards for compliance and Survey Readiness Process. The contractor will be required to provide a written project description, including the amount of resources recommended to address the defined requirements. The contractor will also be required to provide a cost proposal, including a breakdown of costs for each location.
