Description:
The Biloxi Public School District is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a walk-in freezer for Back Bay Elementary, a walk-in cooler at Back Bay Elementary, and a walk-in cooler/freezer combo unit at Popps Ferry Elementary. The proposal should include all equipment required, applicable freight, delivery, demo of existing equipment, construction elements, and installation of new equipment. The district is looking for a firm fixed-price lump sum contract. The proposal should also include references from K-12 educational institutions or institutions of higher learning in the state of Mississippi. Some key features of the walk-in cooler/freezer include: prefabricated modular construction, 4" thick rigid insulation, NSF listed double-bead vinyl gasket, and a one-piece perimeter PVC accordion type removable gasket. The district reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any formalities. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should be designed and constructed to allow fast and easy field assembly, disassembly, relocation, and enlargement. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should be constructed with DURATHANE, high-density urethane insulation forming tongues and grooves to assure vapor and airtight joints. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a Class I fire hazard classification according to UL 723 (ASTM-E-84) as tested by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a flame spread rating of 25 or less and bear a certifying Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. label. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have an operating toggle switch and pilot light mounted on the exterior side of the door frame. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have an incandescent vapor proof light and face mounted inlet box mounted on the interior side of the door frame. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a 2-1/2” diameter chrome face, flush mount, dual reading, adjustable dial thermometer. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have aluminum diamond treadbrite kickplates 36” high on the interior and exterior. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have trim matching the walk-in finish and fabricated to fit building conditions. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have FOUR - 4' LED light fixtures. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a sloped weather roof with vinyl weather cap. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a pressure relief vent. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a backup frame heater wire. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a door section with a break-a-way type latch and inside safety release handle. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a positive action hydraulic door closer. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a self-aligning, self-centering, pin assembly set in the matching panel. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have NSF listed double-bead vinyl gasket applied to the tongue side of all panels. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have a one-piece perimeter PVC accordion type removable gasket with magnetic core at the top and along the side perimeter of the door. • The walk-in cooler/freezer should have an adjustable wiper gasket mounted along the bottom edge of the door.
