Description:
The State of Alabama seeks a qualified contractor to replace the Water Source Heat Pump (WSHP) in the lobby of the William F. Green State Veterans Home and to replace the central supply compressor. The work includes complete lock‑out/tag‑out, removal of existing equipment, installation of a new 5‑ton Carrier WSHP system with associated electrical and ductwork connections, and a full compressor replacement with refrigerant recovery and charging. The contractor must also handle all required testing, startup, and demobilization, and provide warranty documentation. • Install a new 5‑ton Carrier WSHP (460 V/3‑phase, vertical configuration) with 1‑year parts and 5‑year compressor warranties. • Replace the existing 5‑ton R‑22 compressor, including refrigerant recovery, disposal, and charging of new R‑22. • Perform all required disconnects, ductwork modifications, electrical reconnections, and system start‑up; provide post‑installation testing and customer check‑out.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$30,000 – $60,000

Based on typical costs for a 5‑ton Carrier WSHP system (including equipment, labor, disposal, and warranties) plus a full R‑22 compressor replacement, the project is likely to fall between $30,000 and $60,000. Factors influencing the range include site access, existing ductwork condition, and any unforeseen utility modifications.
