The City of Valdosta is seeking bids for the reconstruction of the McIntosh Memorial at Freedom Park. The project includes the removal of the existing concrete paver plaza and stone monument, salvaging select materials, and constructing a new concrete paver plaza and reinstalling the existing stone monument on a new concrete base. The work also includes landscaping and the installation of yard furniture. The project is expected to be completed within a certain number of consecutive calendar days, and the contractor will be required to provide a performance bond and payment bond. • The contractor shall remove the existing pavers, stockpile gray pavers for reuse, and install a new plaza with a uniform surface that freely drains onto the adjoining grassed area. • The contractor shall construct a new concrete foundation slab for the monument, with a washed/exposed river stone aggregate surface, and install the monument on the slab. • The contractor shall install yard furniture, including benches and markers, on new concrete pads. • The contractor shall perform landscaping, including mulching, seeding, and sodding, around the plaza and monument. • The contractor shall provide a carefully prepared schedule of work, which shall set forth the series of dates upon which the contractor proposes to begin and finish the different parts of the work.
