The US Air Force is seeking information about the cost and availability of a self-sustaining container ship capable of carrying ammunition in 20' ISO containers. The vessel should be able to operate worldwide and have a minimum speed of 16 knots. The primary mission of the ship is to transport, preposition, load, and discharge containerized munitions. The contract will have a one-year base period and four option periods. Some key requirements for the vessel include: • A minimum speed of 16 knots • A range of 13,000 nautical miles • Accommodations for 25 persons in addition to the crew • The ability to carry 900 20-foot ISO containers of mission cargo • A fixed water spray cooling system that meets SOLAS requirements • Two electric-hydraulic cargo cranes with a minimum 30 LTON capacity The US Air Force is looking for companies to provide information about their vessels, including company name, point of contact, vessel name and description, ship availability date, and daily rate for each period.
