Description:
Howard County, Maryland is seeking a qualified firm to provide labor relations negotiation services. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting labor negotiations with eight bargaining units, including the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). The firm will also provide expert consulting services in labor relations and other employment-related matters. The contract will be for one year, with the option to renew for up to five additional years. The county is looking for a firm with extensive experience in labor relations in the public sector and a proven track record of success in representing public employers before mediators, fact-finders, and arbitrators. • The firm must have at least five years of experience in labor relations services. • The firm must have a proven record of success in representing public employers before mediators, fact-finders, and arbitrators. • The firm must be available to render services at all times. • The firm must maintain an office in the State of Maryland. • The firm must have the capability to perform the potential volume and type of services required.
