The Ocean County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualifications for Special Conflict/Litigation Counsel Services. The successful vendor(s) will provide these services on a when-and-as-needed basis, in instances where the Office of County Counsel cannot represent the County due to a conflict of interest or other reasons. The vendor(s) must have extensive knowledge and experience in representing and defending governmental entities in various matters, including civil rights actions and workers' compensation claims. Key responsibilities include: • Providing Special Conflict/Litigation Counsel Services as needed • Representing the County in mediation, arbitration, trials, and appellate work • Defending the County in workers' compensation matters • Maintaining primary insurance to protect against claims under Worker's Compensation, Comprehensive General Liability, and Automobile Liability • Complying with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to negotiate the terms and conditions of a contract with the successful vendor(s).
