The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Human Resources Division Civil Service Unit (HRD/CSU) is soliciting bidders for the acquisition of occupational physicians and/or medical entities to review and monitor medical examinations standards for municipal police officers and firefighters. The goals of this procurement are to enable HRD/CSU to have available a team of medical occupational physicians that will revalidate and revise medical standards, ensure consistent application of medical standards, review appeals, and provide expert medical opinion. The contract duration is expected to be 5 years with three 1-year renewal options. Key responsibilities of the medical team include: • Providing subject matter expertise during the review of current medical standards • Identifying and making referrals to physicians in specialty areas • Collaborating with HRD/CSU to update medical history forms and examination forms • Conducting audits of medical examinations • Advising HRD/CSU on changes in the medical field that affect established medical standards • Acting as the main contact for appeals and coordinating with medical specialists
