Description:
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking sources to develop and produce a Large Vertical Array (LVA) for SONAR. The LVA will be used on Ohio Class and Virginia Class submarines. Interested parties should provide a capability statement addressing their experience and expertise in developing and producing large submarine hull-mounted arrays. The statement should include information on sensor and array performance, technical approach, and maintainability. Respondents should also provide a rough order of magnitude cost estimate and describe any barriers to competition. Some key requirements for the LVA include: • The ability to produce large submarine hull-mounted arrays • The capability to sustain a throughput of up to two LVA systems per year • The use of materials that can withstand years-long periods of submersion in salt water and harsh environments • The ability to integrate and interoperate with the AN/BQQ-10(V) Sonar System • Compliance with performance specifications and requirements for outboard electronics and acoustic panels.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$50,000,000 – $200,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as it is a sources sought notice and not a request for proposal. However, based on the complexity of the project and the requirements for the LVA, it is likely that the contract value will be in the tens of millions of dollars. The development and production of a Large Vertical Array for SONAR on submarines is a complex and specialized task that requires significant expertise and resources. The contract may involve multiple phases, including design, development, testing, and production, each with its own set of costs and requirements. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of LVA systems to be produced, the materials and labor required, and the level of testing and validation needed.
