Description:
The United States Air Force Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) is seeking a supplier for burst diaphragms, a critical component for the Hypervelocity Wind Tunnel No. 9. The tunnel is used for hypersonic ground testing and validation of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The burst diaphragms are consumable and require a sufficient inventory to continue operation of the tunnel. The current diaphragms are made from Stainless Steel Type 304 Annealed Plate/Sheet, Tantalum Alloy, and Niobium-Hafnium Alloy. • The supplier will need to provide diaphragms that meet the specifications outlined in the engineering drawings (Atch 1 and Atch 2). • The diaphragms will be used for hypersonic ground testing and validation of CFD simulations. • A sufficient inventory of diaphragms is critical to continuing operation of the tunnel. • The diaphragms are consumable, with two diaphragms used per run.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$100,000 – $500,000

Based on the information provided, it is difficult to estimate the exact budget for this opportunity. However, considering the complexity and specialty of the burst diaphragms, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the supplier will need to provide a significant quantity of diaphragms to meet the tunnel's operational needs. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the quantity of diaphragms required, the materials used, and the manufacturing process.
