The Town of North Hempstead is seeking a law firm to provide bond counsel services for the issuance of general obligation bonds and other debt obligations. The selected firm will be required to advise the Town on all matters related to the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable general obligation bonds and other methods of financing public projects. The firm will need to work closely with the Office of the Town Attorney, the Town Comptroller, and the office of the Supervisor. The contract term will be for five years from the date of the award. Some of the key services required include: • Legal advice related to capital financing for specific capital projects • Drafting of Town Board resolutions related to bonding and capital projects • Drafting, advice, and general support related to the issuance of bonds • Verification of the Town’s outstanding authorized and unissued amounts prior to the finalization of the issuances • General advisory services including local finance law, previously authorized bond resolutions, and Capital Plan project descriptions The Town is looking for a firm with experience in municipal finance and a strong track record of providing high-quality services to municipalities. The firm should have a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations related to municipal finance and be able to provide expert advice and guidance to the Town.
