The Town of Bennington is requesting bids for the construction of the Water Resources Division South End Upgrades project. The project includes constructing water main lines, removing existing asphalt and subbase, installing water main, thrust blocks, hydrants, curb stops, and associated site work. Bids are requested for the General Construction contract. The project is funded in part through the Vermont Drinking and/or Clean Water State Revolving Fund, and the following provisions apply: bid security, disadvantaged business enterprise requirements, performance and payment bonds, American Iron and Steel provisions, federal wage rates, and Build America, Buy America Act requirements. • The project includes constructing water main lines along Weeks Street, Putnam Street, Stonehedge Drive, Jefferson Heights, Merson Street, Crescent Boulevard, and Margaret Lane. • The work will include trenching, removal of existing asphalt and subbase, installation of water main, thrust blocks, hydrants, curb stops, and associated site work. • The project is subject to the Build America, Buy America Act requirements, and all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used must be produced in the United States. • A pre-bid conference will be held on February 6th at 11:00 am at the Town of Bennington Department of Public Works.
