The National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts intends to award a firm-fixed priced sole source basis to Agilent Technologies, Inc for the procurement of an Agilent 5200 Fragment Analyzer System. This system is needed to replace the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer instrument that has been discontinued. The Fragment Analyzer System will enable the Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM) to evaluate DNA and RNA sample types in a high-throughput and cost-effective manner. The system has unique features such as large sample handling capabilities, high sensitivity and resolution, and automated operations. • The Agilent 5200 Fragment Analyzer System uses a proprietary parallel capillary electrophoresis technology and automated pre-set methods and software. • The system supports the analysis of a number of DNA and RNA sample types, including messenger RNA, small RNAs, and genomic DNA. • The system has a high-throughput, automated design that saves on software costs and enables reproducibility of sample investigation. • The current instrument used for RNA/DNA/NGS library Quality Control has been discontinued and is no longer reliable.
