Description:
The Western Area Power Administration is seeking a contractor to provide a 230-kV, 40MVAR 3-phase bank, 100 amp shunt reactor. The reactor shall be a single-phase, outdoor, dry-type, air core design with a nominal voltage of 230-kilovolts and a maximum operating voltage of 253-kilovolts. The reactor shall be designed to withstand various environmental conditions, including ambient temperatures, wind, and seismic activity. The contractor shall provide all necessary hardware, including insulators, support structures, and terminal pads. The contractor shall also provide drawings and data, including informational drawings, final drawings, and test reports. • The reactor shall meet the requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) Standard C57.21. • The reactor shall be designed for outdoor installation and shall be impervious to moisture and other weather hazards. • The reactor shall be furnished with insulators and support structures. • The contractor shall provide a warranty of at least 5 years for the equipment supplied under these specifications.
