Description:
The Teachers' Retirement System of the City of New York is seeking a managed services provider to migrate and host their IBM system to a cloud-hosted environment while maintaining ultra-low latency connectivity to their existing Amazon Web Services (AWS) production systems. The solution must support their tightly integrated architecture between IBM application and AWS-based systems. Key requirements include: • IBM POWER10 or newer processors • Support for IBM i operating systems: v7R4 minimum • NVMe all-flash storage systems for optimal performance • Dedicated IBM Storage Systems (no shared infrastructure) • SAN storage with high-performance capabilities • Full LPAR (Logical Partition) management capabilities • Ultra-low latency connectivity between IBM Power Systems and AWS (under 10 ms latency) • Direct Connect or equivalent private network connection • On-net connectivity to AWS US-East and/or US-West regions • Bandwidth options from 50Mb to 1Gb+ with scalability • Redundant network paths for high availability • Secure network isolation and encryption The proposed solution should include a comprehensive migration plan, minimal outage migration options, support for complex application dependencies, data migration with integrity verification, rollback capabilities, and post-migration optimization and performance tuning.
