The City of Aspen is seeking a technical consultant to conduct an analysis that will assist the city in planning for ongoing and future electrification. The analysis includes four key components: understanding current energy usage and usage patterns, projecting future adoption of electric technologies, modeling future grid requirements, and analyzing potential innovative incentives and programs. The project is divided into two phases, with the first phase focusing on understanding current energy usage and projecting future adoption of electric technologies. The second phase will model future grid requirements and analyze potential innovative incentives and programs. • The consultant will develop an accurate understanding of the current condition and usage of the Aspen Electric grid and fossil fuels throughout the City of Aspen. • The consultant will project the future requirements for the electrical grid, considering the eventual goal of phasing out all-natural gas consumption. • The consultant will analyze potential innovative incentives and programs that support electrification. • The consultant will provide recommendations for next steps, including identifying challenges and any additional incentives and programs the City could offer to support customers.
