The City of Asheville is seeking a qualified architecture firm to design a new fire station in the Oakley neighborhood. The project includes the construction of a two-company fire station with nine sleeping quarters, kitchen and dining facilities, gym space, and laundry facilities. The station will also have two full-size apparatus bays and an additional half-size bay for a passenger-size vehicle. The City is seeking a firm with experience in fire station design, LEED certified design, and construction management. The selected firm will be responsible for designing the station, managing the LEED certification process, and assisting with public outreach and construction administration. Key features of the project include: • Occupant safety with proper separation of hot and cold zones and decontamination facilities • LEED Gold certification • Space efficiency with a target building size of 13,195 square feet • Community engagement and public outreach • Construction administration and project closeout The City is looking for a firm with a strong track record of delivering similar projects on time and within budget. The selected firm will be required to execute a professional services contract and provide insurance certificates and endorsements as specified in the City's standard terms and conditions.
