Description:
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is seeking a qualified consultant to provide state and federal lobbying and governmental affairs services on an annual contract with four one-year renewal options. The selected consultant will serve as a governmental affairs consultant and legislative representative to state and federal government on behalf of the Board of Commissioners. The consultant will provide strategic state and federal legislative counsel and lobbying services, facilitate meetings and appointments with key decision makers, and serve as an early warning system on state and federal government policies and debates that impact the Board's ability to effectively lead the County. The consultant will also provide a web-based legislative tracking system, identify appropriations that contribute to the levels of service and quality of programs provided to the citizens and stakeholders of the County, and develop a government affairs strategy with the Board. • The contract will be for a period of 12 months with four one-year renewal options. • The consultant will be required to provide monthly reports detailing the policy areas worked, activities performed, and status or milestones accomplished. • The consultant will be paid on a monthly basis, with a flat rate monthly fee for state and federal lobbying and governmental affairs services. • The consultant will be responsible for providing evidence of insurance coverage as required in the provisions of the attached requirements and maintaining said insurance throughout the project. • The consultant will be required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Georgia Immigration Reform Act.
